I really like the high contrast and the way the strokes suddenly break in this type.
You absolutely must check out Nick Kwiatek’s site! It generates smoke using text every time you move the mouse! So cool.
This wooden bookshelf reminds me of this site, actually. My tag styling is pretty similar to those dividers!
Another one of my favorite Ghibli backgrounds. This one’s from Porco Rosso, which had a lot of nice ocean scenery in it.

The backgrounds from Studio Ghibli films are always really nice. I particularly like this one from Princess Mononoke.

I really like Yuna Kim‘s portfolio website. Hiding her work behind those shapes might sound like a bad idea, but it’s actually kind of playful with the way she did it!
